Constructing the Strange (Sci-fi & Fantasy writing)
Most people daydream about writing that science fiction or fantasy novel ‘one day’, but few people find the time to sit down and write it. If you have that niggling story idea but aren’t quite sure where to begin, this course aims to give all the detailed building blocks of creating a believable, multi-faceted world in which to set your novel.
Additionally, this course will provide an environment to share those ideas to receive personalised guidance on the narrative you wish to write. Over the 8 weeks, you will also have the opportunity to write a short story based on your original setting, which at the end of the course CCA intend to
publish as part of an anthology.
Lead by Nej Steer, a creative writer whose academic career is based firmly in science fiction and fantasy writing, this course will give you the confidence to write the story you’ve always wanted to.
This eight-week course will run for 2 hours each week except weeks commencing December 21st and 28th, on Thursday evenings, between 7:00pm and 9:00pm GMT.
The course starts on Thursday 12th November and ends on Thursday 14th January
This course is non-refundable
Access to our virtual classroom and guidance on how to access will be provided no later than 24hrs before the course is due to start.
