Employability arts sector skills

Throughout this year we have had an opportunity to re-evaluate our lives and look at the direction we are taking. For some, we have experienced an involuntary change of life circumstances, and for others we have had time to reflect on the work we are currently doing, and question whether this is making us happy or fulfilled.

The aim of the Employability course is to build confidence in not only knowing where to search for a job, but also how to apply for a job, in a supportive environment. You will be encouraged to reflect on what skills you possess, which in turn will help you to fully develop your potential, recognising your own transferable, employable skills and talents to create a CV that you are confident in when applying for jobs.

You may be amazed to see how a passion or a hobby can be transferred into an exciting and inspirational job application, demonstrating desirable skills and traits that employers are interested in.

Over the course of three sessions we will:

  • Analyse your strengths and weaknesses
  • Research jobs in the sector from various sources and analyse skills required to perform them
  • Provide you with the skills to create a CV and cover letter that can be tailored to various jobs, ensuring key attributes for the position are targeted within your application
  • Analyse job descriptions to ensure key skills required are identified
  • Complete various types of job applications
  • Prepare for an interview, including having questions ready for the interviewer

This course runs on Wednesdays from January 13th to January 27th. Weekly sessions will be 7pm until 8pm GMT. This course is non-refundable.

Session 1: Wednesday, January 13, 2021
