The Art of Performing Poetry
Whether you are new to writing poetry or have been creating poetry for some time this interactive online course explores the techniques and skills that will enable you to craft and perform your own poetry for live audiences. Starting with an examination of the subtle differences between page and performance poetry the course assists poets to evolve poems that will thrive in live situations and to construct narratives and journeys that will provide a sense of wholeness and completion to sets of poetry.
This course runs Thursday 16th July until Thursday 3rd September
The course sessions are between 2pm and 4pm.

Chris BrooksPerformance Lecturer
Chris has over two decades experience as a storyteller, performance poet and comic performer. He combines his background in education with an interest in the perennialism of folklore, fairy tales, and religious texts. This has led to him organising and executing numerous successful talks, workshops and courses on these subjects. Chris’ inspiring teaching has assisted the growth of some of the most prominent performers across the South West.
